What is Bancha?
Bancha is a green tea commonly drunk in Japan, which is made from second harvest and third harvest leaves between early summer and autumn. Because the leaves are harvested later, it doesn't have the freshness of Sencha, but it's a popular, great-tasting tea for every day.

Taste
Due to the geographical and climatic conditions, less intense sunlight and milder temperatures, the plants grow more slowly and develop intense and rich aromas. The tea contains little caffeine, but it is rich in iron, calcium and tannins. Mild in taste, it is reminiscent of Sencha, with a slightly bitter note. A nice tea, which can be drunk several times a day.

How to brew
For a good drinking experience, we recommend steeping the tea leaves in hot water at 90°C for about half a minute. For orientation: Approx. 3 grams (1 teaspoon) of tea leaves are sufficient for 200 ml of water.
